Project/
CABEZA DE COCO is a multisensorial event that brings together an artistic installation with a musical and poetic intervention to create a complete experience.
The music and images are inspired by a sacred ceremonial mask from Puerto Rico carved from a coconut shell. it’s called “Vejigante” and It represents a giant Islamic demon portrayed in the carnival celebrations of Santiago Apóstol. The Illustrations are part of a growing series that portray the “Vejigante” character as an extraordinary hero and figure in Puertorican folklore that celebrates our afro caribbean and indigenous heritage through the ages.
